The CAP® is designed for financial professionals who want to support their clients' philanthropic goals. The program consists of three online, self-study courses covering philanthropic planning, charitable giving strategies, and gift planning in the context of family wealth. Courses are completed fully online and at your own pace, with the program completable in 12 months or less. No prerequisite courses are required to begin, though three years of full-time, relevant business experience is required to use the designation.
The CAP® curriculum synthesizes the art and science of philanthropic planning, drawing on taxation, finance, fundraising, purposeful planning, family dynamics, and psychology. You'll develop the skills to integrate charitable planning into a client's overall estate plan, help clients achieve meaningful impact for themselves and their communities, and position yourself as a trusted partner in legacy planning.
The CAP® is a strong fit for financial professionals, estate planners, and advisors who work with clients for whom giving is a meaningful part of their financial lives. According to FUSE Research's 2024 Designation Outcomes Study, CAP® designees report 44% higher growth in client retention and 35% higher growth in number of clients compared to peers with no designations.
